THE MAN BEHIND THE WHEEL

Known as a kind gentleman, Fisichella is an active fundraiser for the Great Osmond Street Children’s Hospital in London and a member of the F1 drivers’ charity football team. Being an Italian, football comes naturally to the AS Roma fan and he plays as a striker for the Nationale Pilote.
He can zip in a car at 350 kmph without batting an eyelid but the Capricorn has an acute phobia of spiders.
We are guessing Arachnophobia is not his favorite movie. Though if his favorite actors, Sharon Stone and Sylvester Stallone, were in it, the former Renault driver may just see it.
A great fan of comic capers, Fisichella’s current muse is every Italian’s dream girl, Monica Bellucci and he would not mind getting stuck in a lift with her.
Fisichella’s is least fond of curries but having joined a team that is co-owned by an Indian, we have a feeling that the Italian may just have a change of heart.
In Rome, where history sits at every corner, on January 14, 1973, Giancarlo Fisichella was born. A minikart champion in Italy at the age of 11, Fisi as he is fondly called made his way up from karting to Formula Three, even taking a detour in the Touring Car championship before finally finding his way to Formula one in 1995 as a Minardi test driver.
